our philosophy

At This Little Light of Mine Academy we believe the words of Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” This Little Light of Mine Academy greatly desires that all Children have the opportunity to SHINE spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially, intellectually and academically by relating, playing, exploring, and learning with others in a fun, safe, healthy, Christian environment where a real relationship with Jesus Christ is the foundation of every area of life.

We believe that happy, loved and connected children are destined for success in every facet of their lives. We believe that each child has a God given destiny. We believe true success for each child is to know God and walk in the fullness of their destiny. We believe we are here to help each child learn how to begin that journey with God and people. We believe we are here to help them develop into children that SHINE! We believe that God The Father, Jesus, Holy Spirit and The Bible are here to show your children how to SHINE so that others will see and know God too....

⮚ In one God. He is the creator and sustainer of the universe, who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

⮚ In the Bible. We believe the Bible is God's Word, which He inspired by His Spirit to over 40 different writers over several thousand years. God's Word is our infallible rule of faith and practice.

⮚ In Jesus. Jesus was fully God and became fully man, and walked among us. We believe in His virgin birth and His sinless life. We believe He died on the cross to pay for our sins and was raised bodily from the dead. We believe He ascended to heaven, and will personally come again.

⮚ In the Holy Spirit. He glorifies Jesus Christ, He works in people to bring them to faith and obedience, and He lives in the hearts of believers, equipping and empowering them for lives of holiness and fruitful service.

⮚ In man's need for a Savior. All have sinned and are guilty before God, and as a result we all need the salvation Christ won for us at the cross.

⮚ In restoration. All who surrender their lives to Christ are free from judgment and born again into God's kingdom. Not only that, but they are called to be agents of God's reconciliation in human society.

⮚ In the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Jesus called it "the gift that Father promised", and it is given to any believers who ask.

⮚ In the Church. The church is Jesus' body in the earth. The church is made up of all believers and exists to fulfill Christ's mission: to bring every human being to Christ and to bring healing and justice to human society, all to the glory of God.

⮚ In the resurrection of the body, in heaven, and in hell. Every human will spend eternity with God or absent from Him.

Hello there! I am Shannon Cooper, Founder and Director of This Little Light of Mine Academy for 10 years. Leading your children to an everyday life and relationship with Jesus Christ is my great joy and honor! I look forward to meeting you and your little ones!

Hi, my name is Jordon. I have been on staff at This Little Light of Mine Academy for 10 years. I have served in all areas of childcare including teaching, nutrition, child health, safety, management, and administration. My position allows me to participate in all aspects of the oversight, education, and care of your children. I love what I do and look forward to meeting you and your babies.

Hello, my name is Karina. I am a Teacher at This Little Light of Mine Academy for 4 1/2 years. I teach School age children. I love teaching because every day is different. I also love it because I am teaching children who are our future....
